What the service does

MacOrb starts a hosted macOS instance, runs an Amp runner on it, and can clone a GitHub repository you name. One live Mac per account. Each session has a time limit, shown before you start it, after which MacOrb asks for the Mac to be stopped. That request is prompt, not instant.

You can stop a session from the console, the plugin, or the CLI. There is no pause: a session runs or it is gone.

Early-access sessions can start slowly, fail, or be interrupted, and new sessions can be switched off without notice. Cloudflare, Namespace, Amp, GitHub, the network, and preview software all affect whether a Mac comes up. MacOrb is offered as it is, with no promise of availability.

Price and how minutes are counted

MacOrb charges $0.15 per active Mac-minute. There is no subscription, no seat fee and no minimum. You pay only for the minutes a machine of yours was running.

Measured time starts when the Mac begins booting, so it includes startup even when the runner never becomes ready, and it ends when MacOrb records the Mac as destroyed. Minutes are written by a job that runs periodically and revisits recent periods, so a figure can lag by a few minutes and then change. The Usage page shows what has been counted against your account.

We will give notice before the rate changes. A change never applies to credit you have already bought at the old rate.

Billing is not switched on in this deployment. Nothing can be bought and no usage is being charged; the sections below describe the terms that apply once it is.

Buying credit

Machine time is paid for with credit bought in advance, in US dollars, in fixed packs:

• $10 buys $10 of credit — about 66 Mac-minutes at today’s rate.
• $25 buys $25 of credit — about 166 Mac-minutes at today’s rate.
• $50 buys $50 of credit — about 333 Mac-minutes at today’s rate.

Minute figures are estimates rounded down, not an entitlement: what you buy is the credit, and it is drawn down at the rate above. Prices are exclusive of any tax our payment provider is required to collect, which is shown at checkout.

Credit does not expire. It stays on your account until you spend it. Credit has no cash value beyond the refund terms below, cannot be transferred between accounts, and is not a deposit or a payment instrument.

A machine will not start when your balance cannot pay for it, and a running machine is stopped when its credit runs out. Keep a balance if you do not want a session interrupted.

Payments are taken by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record. Their name, not MacOrb’s, may be what appears on your card statement. MacOrb never receives or stores your card details.

Refunds and cancellation

Unused credit can be refunded on request within 14 days of the purchase that bought it. Ask through Support from the email address on your account, and we will refund the unused balance to the original payment method. Refunds are normally issued within five working days of being agreed; how long the money then takes to appear is up to your bank.

Machine minutes you have already used are not refundable. The machine really ran and MacOrb was really billed for it by its infrastructure provider.

If a machine fails to start, or a session is interrupted by a fault on our side, tell us and we will credit the wasted minutes back. You do not have to argue about whose fault it was: if it looks like ours, we credit it.

There is no subscription to cancel. Stop buying credit and nothing further is charged. You can close your account at any time from the Account page; if it holds unused credit bought within the refund window, ask for the refund before you close it.

Macs are temporary

Stopping destroys the Mac. Files on it do not come back in a later session, and MacOrb keeps no copy. Push or export anything you want to keep before you stop, and before the time limit stops it for you. Do not use a session as a backup or expect recovery after an interruption.

Your responsibilities

• Use MacOrb and the accounts you connect to it only where you have permission, and follow the rules of GitHub, Amp, Namespace, and anything your workload reaches.
• Protect your MacOrb session token, Amp key, and GitHub token. Grant the least permission that works, and rotate or revoke when something changes.
• Do not use MacOrb to harm systems or people, evade access controls, distribute malware, disrupt the service, or break the law.
• Review what the agent does. Commands, code changes, and outbound calls made through your account and credentials are yours.

Credentials

How MacOrb stores and uses your credentials is on the Security page. Stopping a Mac or removing a stored credential is not the same as revoking it at Amp or GitHub.

Who operates MacOrb

MacOrb is operated by Fathima Rinosha Abul Kalam, trading as FZMZ Labs, in the Netherlands, whose law governs these terms.

Suspension and closing an account

You can close your account at any time from the Account page. MacOrb may suspend or close an account that breaks the rules above, that is being used to harm other people or systems, or where we are required to. Where we can, we will say why and give you a chance to put it right first. If we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, unused credit is refunded in full whatever the refund window says.

MacOrb is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, or that a machine will start, and — except where the law does not allow us to limit it — our liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the three months before it arose.
